The FA Respect Programme sets out clear codes of conduct for everyone involved in football — including leagues, clubs, coaches, referees, players, and parents — from grassroots to the elite level. Its goal is to create a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment for all who take part in the game.
“We Only Do Positive,” the programme’s latest initiative, encourages coaches and parents at clubs such as NPV Football Development to help build a more inclusive, supportive, and respectful football culture.
Respect is:
A standard of behaviour across football.
For everyone, helping to unite the game.
About understanding what is acceptable and unacceptable conduct.
About taking responsibility for your actions and their consequences.
About supporting match officials in carrying out their role.
It’s not just a slogan. It’s a shared responsibility for everyone involved in football.
Creating the right environment for players, both on and off the pitch, is essential. Each of us has a role to play in making football fun, safe, and inclusive for all.
The Respect Codes of Conduct ensure that everyone involved in an England Football Accredited League or Club is contributing positively.
